The Acropolis is Athens' centerpiece up on a hill overlooking the whole city. As its most popular attraction it's not exactly a peaceful place. If you take your time however, and wait until the end of the day to explore some of the smaller details and corners of the
Acropolis, you forget about everyone else around you. The crowds thin out and you just end up staring in awe at the architecture and wondering about the history that these beautiful slabs of sculpted rock have witnessed.
Continuing the old-world theme, I snapped a couple nice aerial shots of the Mediterranean coastline of Lebanon and the heart of the Saudi Arabian desert on my way to my next destination.
